An odd little anomaly of a movie, W.W. and the Dixie Dancekings starred Burt Reynolds at the peak of his movies fame along with Country stars Jerry Reed and Don Williams as well as Conny Van Dyke. It’s a rather innocuous and very strange little comedy. It was set in the 1950s and rode the nascent 70s nostalgia craze that American Graffiti and Happy Days were just cresting on. I saw it at the Velda Rose Drive-In half way between Mesa and Apache Junction back in 1975.
Jerry Reed – One of the great guitar heroes of Country Music with his signature song Guitar Man which was covered by Elvis.
